This is a blog reviewing the latest book I have read along with the books I have self-published. Please feel free to follow along with my reading / writing journey.

Book 1 of the Sanctuary series. Starting off, this was a well written novel and in the title it states that it is epic fantasy. So any criticism I would have would be because I really do not enjoy epic fantasy. That said, if you like authors like David Eddings you will enjoy this series.…

If you’re wondering if the payoff is worth it, I’d say Yes. I read a bad review on the ending and honestly was dreading it a little. I like how it wrapped up. I liked how things changed and things stayed the same. Mostly I liked how completing one thing did not solve all of…

An epic builder for a series ending. This book followed the hero’s journey and broke from the previous several novels in bouncing around to figure out what everyone else was doing. I loved this one and am excited for the conclusion of the overarching / new arc and seeing how it all wraps up. I…

Loved the setback on this one that started in the last book. Would have liked to see more foreshadowing in the “Why?” But still played fine and maybe it was there and I missed it but that part did not hit as hard. Love that we get some real hints as to what this is…

This is the conclusion of a major arc. Another epic battle and the end of some lingering problems. Lots of similar tactics to what we have seen so far. Interesting as each side tries to out maneuver the other. Our two main characters are right in the thick of things doing everything they can to…

Here we are still in the fourth realm the entire book and this one touches the eight realm. Overall a massive war and a minor set back as we lose some even some close ones. In terms of epic battles this ranks up there. A fun read and excited for the next.

Book 53 of the Goosebumps series. I am still trying to figure out if this was more of a hypnosis thing or what. It seems like only the effected could see what was going on. Not overly scary, however defiantly horror in this one. Followed more of the standard Goosebumps formula, but still fresh enough…

Book 54 of the Goosebumps series. This one I really enjoyed. It was different. Definitely appropriate even for the more sensitive readers but overall a fun idea that would have made a great Twilight Zone or other equal level classic. Great characters in this one. I would recommend.

This BBC broadcast set goes after the culture wars the things behind them. Interview style along with commentary. It is an interesting montage of shows to look at the various clashes in culture and belief systems that leads us to our current modern society and issues and problems as cultural norms are challenged.

This book is a look at factors behind medieval and renaissance literature and specifically religious contexts and inspirations. Overall it is a lecture based book and talks careful study as the language is precise and heavily loaded. The style is more the spoken than the written language and that also can make it feel a…
