There is a lot to unpack in this little novel. The writing reminds me of Beautiful Creatures. There is a little bit of a dark Wizard of Oz vibe. Overall though I felt the story line was more like I Am Not A Serial Killer. I am still left with a vibe that he could just be crazy and it was all in his head, which makes the whole story a lot darker. I did enjoy the story and if you’re looking for a dark novel that touches on race discrimination (Can I say Star-bellied Sneeches vibe) then you should give this one a read.
