Sometimes the Alden children can find a mystery without even leaving the house. That said this was a fun little read. However not one of my top favorites. This is the first book of The Spiderwick Chronicles. Right away the story grabbed me reminding me of Artemis Fowl. These books are extremely short, but I feel would appeal to the reluctant reader as they have good pacing. There is a reason for their fame. At least that is what I think so far.
