  • Travels with Charley

This is a novel that will take you through the US during the 1960s. This is a work of fiction or is it? Steinbeck is such an amazing writer he leaves you feeling like you’ve been there. Charley breaks up the story and yet moves the story along. Even the truck feels like a character…

  • The Black Pearl Mystery

Boxcar Children book 64. This should be the Alden’s go to Hawaii. It is amazing that bad people are everywhere, even in paradise. The only part I did not care for in this book is that there really was no repercussion for evil heartless conglomerate. Overall a good read with numerous bad people.

  • Hunt for the Mad Wolf’s Daughter

Book 2 of the Mad Wolf’s Daughter. This was an interesting follow up to the series. This felt more like it should have just been a continuation of the first book as it did not seem to have a plot of its own. Aside from that, well worth the read to finish the story but…

  • The Mad Wolf’s Daughter

This was a very fun adventure. A great example of the hero’s journey. I love that the main character is the youngest girl. Can she put aside her feelings and help the enemy to get her family back? Can this young girl actually succeed? I would recommend this little read for those loving fast paced…

  • The Mystery of the Lake Monster

Book 62 of the Boxcar Children. This was a fun mystery. Is there really a monster out in that lake? All seems skeptical until they find a footprint. Suddenly, the footprint is gone. It is going to take the Alden children to sort this one out. A quick fun read and now a classic.

  • The Element of Fire

I have heard great things about this author but not about this book. I could not get into this book. The characters are flat uninteresting and the story line frankly put me to sleep. As such, I do not recommend this book, but I will try her other series and see if I can deal…

  • Isr Kale’s Journal

Book 4 of the Alchemist series. Yet some more unbelievable escapes and ways that Tailyn escapes when put into all kinds of terrible spaces. This is a super fun read. I recommend to anyone that likes the RPGLit genera to read books by Vasily Mahanenko as he does a great job creating believable worlds. Highly…

  • Secret of the Shadow Beasts

Book 1 of Shadow Beasts series. This was a fun read and is geared for the younger ages of the YA groups. There are a few messages I do not like in the series. I have never been a fan of the “instant hero” not needing the same training as the other people. Aside from…

  • Valley of Fire

Book 1 of Arlington Finch. This was a fun YA book focused on a form of scouts in a mysterious area. Strange things are beckoning Arlo intent on his demise. Can Arlo avoid death navigate a new place with a new group of friends and earn his squirrel badge? This is definitely worth your time…
