  • The Last

Endling book 1. This was a great read from an accomplished storyteller. She did a great job of keeping the pacing going. I am excited to see deeper into her magic system. We only just touched the edges. The concept is super fun add it deals with the dark topic of genocide. I was amazed…

  • The Boy Who Cried Werewolf

Book 1 of Monster Street. This was a fun twisty novel that left you guessing. It is a quick read and worth the time to take a look at. I am excited to read the rest of the series.

  • The Sun and The Star

Another book from the Percy Jackson series. This focuses on Nico di Angelo and Will Solace. The storyline is what you would expect they have a quest and go together. This book focuses on the gay relationship between the bots and I felt tried to oversell it a bit. Aside from that there were a…

  • Effective Editting

My was my first “The Great Courses” This was a library pickup so I did not have all the materials they referred to but I would highly recommend this for beginner writers. A lot of the edits she discussed are ones I do, however there were enough tidbits to make this well worth your time…

  • Who was Daniel Boone?

I have not read any of these books, but was interested in what it had to say about this legendary folk hero. I enjoyed the content. Well written for a young reader to get an understanding of the history of our great country. Based on this book, I will read more of the “Who was…”…

  • The Mystery of the Mummy’s Curse

Book 88 of the Boxcar Children. This was a fun museum adventure. The only thing that was disturbing is how flippant the thief is after they are caught. Just like I figured I could make a few bucks. Outside of that it is a fun adventure and as always emphasizes the value of hard work.…

  • The Strength of the “Mormon” Position

This was a good overall information about a lot of the deeper doctrine and myth busting some thoughts that others have. It is a short 43 page read and well worth the time when wanting to know more about this religion.

  • The Guinevere Deception

Book 1 of the Camelot Rising Trilogy. This was an interesting take on the King Arthur story. I was amazed at the excellent weaving of the old legend into this telling. It stays very vague and leaves a lot unanswered. I am hopping in the next two books that it becomes clearer. Aside from that…

  • The Story of My Life

This is the autobiography of Helen Keller. It is so interesting to see how her life moved from the desease that took her heating and sight to her rescue by Anne Sullivan. It shows the effect each of us can have on even what would seem to be a hopeless situation. I also was surprised…

  • Eve and Adam

As you might expect this book is a reversal of the well known Genesis story. Fun with biotech. Great character development and a good twist. Overall, felt a little rushed but a good reader in the YA space. I would recommend it.
