  • Mystery in the Cave

Book 50 in the Boxcar Children series. This was a good one. Almost to the brink of danger but still kept very low key for those young readers. Oh what a different world. I could only imagine people now a days telling young kids, “Oh no problem go explore those underground caves.” Just interesting how…

  • The Three Princes of Serendip

This was a middle eastern collection of fables. They were great. I had even heard of some of them before. Like many great fables, these had a lot of wisdom in them. I highly recommend the read.

  • The Mystery on the Train

Book 51 of the Boxcar Children. This book was full of twists. Wonderfully put together. Loved the guy in the disguise. Loved the intention. This book was a strong representation of the mystery genera. I liked it.

  • The Grim Grotto

Book 11 of the Series of Unfortunate Events. This was another in the series that takes us deeper into the misfortune. This was great as it had some fantastic twists. I am excited for the final two books in the series. For such a short book, this felt like a lot was covered.

  • The Running Man

A great read. The Hunger Games before the Hunger Games were ever thought about. A dystopian future where there are no happy endings. If you want to experience what the true Hunger Games would be like, pick this up. I love the concept of doing something to keep people from realizing how bad it really…

  • The Hidden

Book 39 of Animorphs. This was probably my favorite of the whole series. This one posed some very deep philosophical questions. And while the answer to the question was taken out of their hands, I wish there had been a different resolution. Overall this book will have you thinking well beyond that last page.

  • Miracles

This books by Christian writer CS Lewis is an excellent look at the idea of miracles and he spends a lot of time looking at both sides of this coin. This is a really in-depth review on the way we can approach our own beliefs in miracles. Well thought out and discussed. I would defiantly…

  • Developing the Leader Within You 2.0

I have been a huge fan of John C Maxwell for years. This book is no exception to his amazing works. From the very beginning they are not just thoughtful or inspiring by all very positive. If you’re looking for a book to read to help you become a better reader, look no further.

  • Mystery of the Stolen Boxcar

Book 49 of the Boxcar Children. This time it is personal. Someone has stolen the boxcar and the Aldens need to figure out who. Loved this one. Lots of red herrings and a perfect conclusion leads to a great story and this one nailed it. This is in the top 10 for the series and…

  • The Slippery Slope

Book 10 of A Series of Unfortunate Events. This book picks up with the orphans in immediate danger. As usual they will have to use there particular talents to get out of this one. They meet some new friends/enemies and we revisit some old faces. Overall a solid book in the series. Excited to get…
