  • Trials of Death

Must better escalation, but still leaves you without a big payoff. This story is reminiscent of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, with a strange vampire twist. Excellently done and kept the pages turning. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

  • Vampire Mountain

The next installment of the vampire series. This one is a two parter, be aware and set to read the next book as it ends in a “to be continued”. It is still a great read. Fasted paced and filled with the wonders of the vampire world this book is mainly focused on the trip…

  • Max and the Midnights

Middle grade book and a short read. This would be great for child around 11 years old. The main character is a girl who is setting out to be a knight. All around wholesome and fun. Great recommend for that young reader.

  • Gregor and the Curse of the Warmbloods

Here is book 3 in the series. A very fun read but there was still parts I would have liked to have seen done just a little differently. Of the three books I think this one is the closest aligned to the Hunger Games trilogy.

  • Gregor and the Prophecy of Bane

A good middle grade / younger adult novel. Gregor returns to the underworld because of another prophecy. A lot of our old friends return but most fade into the background. I think she should have done more with Raging, but a fun adventure book that is sure to entertain.

  • Doctor Sleep

The second part of The Shining. If you have seen or read The Shining then this squeal is for you. With a whole new issue and cast of characters except for one special boy we rejoin him much later in life. However that special hotel though burned to the ground is not forgotten.

  • The Shining

How do you rate a master of story telling? The book is good and very well paced. I thought for sure we were going to have the sudden appearance of the bad guy again. I am happy with the ending and in a way it reminds me a touch of the ending of metamorphosis. Plot…

  • The Divine Gift of Forgiveness

A book on the redemptive power of repentance. This book dives into topics about forgiving other and finding forgiveness for yourself. The book is broken up into topics and refers a lot to scriptural texts. If you’re trying to find peace and joy in your life this is a good book to pick up.

  • Podkayne of Mars

If you are a Robert Heinlein fan then you will get that this book is true to his form. It ends unexpectedly almost like it wanted it to be more and yet it wasn’t. Low on my recommend list just because it ended abruptly and I am not sure how the ending fits with any…

  • The Life of Pi

I enjoyed the background and insights to animals and zoos. That has nothing to do with the shipwreck portion. I love the two viewpoints of the same experience, leaving it to the reader what really happened. The story moves well and keeps you turn the pages. This is a story you will not regret reading.
