Book 12 of Goosebumps. This is your twist on the standard genie with the three wishes. Overall it was pretty straightforward with wishes gone wrong and a mild twist at the end. This one is not scary and would be appropriate for even non-horror readers. Or even for those struggling to fit in in middle school.
