Hidden Potential

This book really focuses in on the talent that is out there that is overlooked. I love how it brings up that there isn’t an elite lottery that it is more about desire to improve/exceed vs some born in trait that limits potential. Over and over I see things about the Peter Principle. How do evaluate how some one will do except by their achievements? As we promote people to a level where they cannot succeed, I am not sure that is worse than hiring at the highest levels based on Ivy League. The idea of teaching each other even at the peer level was interesting. I liked the warning about the highest level not being able to understand the lowest level and therefore not able to teach to that level. A lot of interesting insights, but leaves you wondering how practical it would be to try to implement a hiring methodology where you are trying to understand future potential.
