Another in the Animorphs series giving us a detailed background to how they became enslaved to the Yerks. This is a heartbreaking tale just because we know how it ends. That said it is even sadder than it needed to be. Overall, not a must read for the series but still was fun backstory with some grand heroes. If you enjoyed the series you’ll like this too. The theme is learning to love others different from yourself and valuing life. The other theme that was interesting is how even making the right decisions at times creates repercussions just as bad as the bad decisions.
