A Raisin in the Sun

This classic play really speaks to post slavery black families struggling in the be America. It takes us back to Chicago and the struggles that ensue as we see the new generation as they find a place for themselves. This is a story that is very pertaining as we celebrate Juneteenth. Too much we see emasculation as the end whereas this shows us how it was a beginning that was hard that did have struggles. Most poignant being the struggle of a black family looking to move into a white neighborhood. We should all read and become familiar with the history of this nation so this will never happen again.
