Book 98 of the Boxcar Children. This book is not a ghost story despite the title. Also, appropriate for younger readers. Lots of red herrings and clues to keep you guessing and even a ghostly cowbell. Ok, so there is a tad hint of a ghost, but nothing scary. Just a fun read that speaks to the lengths people will go if in financial troubles. Could be a good teaching moment.
